DesignLab Mentoring

For over 3 years I have been providing global mentorship and guidance to DesignLab students in a professional and educational capacity. I have engaged with over 50 students, helping them complete their DesignLab courses and also instill them in confidence, helping them learn Figma as a design tool, and offering insight into what life as a Product Designer is like. Many of these students have gone on to switch careers or enter the design world after completing their time at DesignLab.

DesignLab Foundations

As a mentor on the DesignLab Foundations courses I provide guidance and mentorship, helping students complete a full end to end project of designing and creating a responsive website project. I tutor them in Figma usage and best practice and provide guidance on UI design patterns, accessibility, and visual design best practices.

DesignLab Academy

As a mentor for the DesignLab Academy course I provide full UX and Product Design guidance and mentorship, working with students over months of detailed projects and case studies, ensuring they are confident utilising the many research and UX methods available in the Design Thinking toolbox, and helping them learn about the UX design appraoch for each of their projects.

DesignLab Career Services

As a Career Services mentor I help students who hve graduated the DesignLab Academy course to gain confidence in their portfolio, interview techniques and help with applying for entry level positions. Mock interviews, design assignments, and general soft skills coaching are provided as part of this engagement.
